BY THE NUMBER: 13. Seth Shomes’ age when Michael Jackson’s Thriller album came out. “I used to go down to my basement with my silver glove and practice my moonwalking. Don’t judge, you know I wasn’t the only one! Ha.”

This Massachusetts native and Tufts University alum, who started out as a rock piano player, launched his current agency in 2021, continuing to build on his experience booking casinos, corporate gigs and colleges during his time with The Agency Group and UTA. “I’ve always tried to do things the right way,” he says. “I try to be a good human being first, running my company like a family, where everybody has a voice.”
Now based in Santa Ynez, California, the multi-nominated Pollstar Award agent is particularly excited about the upcoming tour marking the 35th anniversary of Jodeci’s debut album, as well as booking the first-ever residency for legendary songwriters Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis at the Voltaire at the Venetian.
His client list ranges far and wide, working with talent including Bobby Brown, Missy Elliott, Bow Wow, Aaron Lewis, Tyler Henry, Staind, and Bingo Loco, as well as authorized tribute bands Celebrating Meat Loaf and the Ultimate Journey Tribute.
“My business model is to work with icons and name brands,” he adds. “I’m a music fan. I want to work with people whose music I love, and I will work hard to repurpose their brand. Legacy artists are like blue chip stocks that have stood the test of time due to their incredible catalogs.”
Shomes is also intent on giving back, helping raise money for non-profits such as Rob Thomas’ Sidewalk Angels Foundation, which supports animal rescues and no-kill animal shelters.
Reflecting on his three-decade-plus career as a talent agent, Shomes explains, “As an agency, our mantra is to represent our clients’ through strategy, not transaction. My personal goal has always been to work harder than anybody else and never underestimate the value of great relationships and creative thinking. It sounds simplistic, but that’s how I built my entire career… In the end, I want to be known as the guy that made the most of his talents, his agency and the talents of the artists we represent.”
