Carín León Sphere Concert Postponed Due To A ‘Transportation Issue’

Carín León postponed the fourth date of his Sphere residency in Las Vegas on Thursday because of a travel “setback.” Fans inside the venue were told about an hour after the show’s start time that the concert would no longer take place “due to an unexpected transportation issue,” according to a Sphere communication.

Tickets for the postponed event are valid for a show on Sept. 15, 2027, or fans can request a refund at the original point of purchase by Oct. 10.

Videos of ticketholders upset by the news circulated online, and León posted a statement and two videos on his Instagram stories apologizing to his fans and explaining the difficult situation.

“I cannot give you back your time or everything you sacrificed to come see our show, to sit there with us and enjoy something that is just as important to me and my career as it is to you,” León said in the video. “We couldn’t make it to the event. We had issues with the plane right from the start. Our departure was scheduled for around 2 or 3 p.m. We boarded the plane, experienced a brake failure and had to request another aircraft. It arrived around 4:30 or 5 p.m. We were about to leave, then we had a steering system failure.

“I don’t fully understand the technical details, but the flight logs exist, and we are providing evidence of all this, as well as statements from the people at the airport and the pilots,” León added.

The Mexican star went on to say that he felt “truly ashamed” and that the situation was out of his hands.

“We had to prioritize the safety of the people and the pilots, so we weren’t allowed to fly. The authorities wouldn’t let us,” León said. “I sincerely apologize from the bottom of my heart and want to reaffirm our love for you. This isn’t a lack of commitment on our part. Things simply didn’t go as we had hoped, and I stand here feeling deeply embarrassed.”

He concluded his heartfelt message with, “We hope to remain in your hearts and in your favor. God bless you all. A thousand apologies.”

León isn’t the first artist to postpone or cancel a show at Sphere. Kenny Chesney became the first headliner to cancel a performance at the venue when he nixed two summer shows, July 3 and 4, this year to respect the family traditions of the 4^th of July weekend.

On Thursday morning, León had announced he was returning to Sphere in 2027 for three shows, Sept. 16-18, celebrating Mexican Independence Day.
