Lakers Or Jay-Z?

His Dec. 13 date alongside Kanye West at the Staples Center happens to fall on the same date, and same time, as the supposed tipoff of a match between the Los Angeles Lakers and Toronto Raptors.

And the Lakers game was still on the books on the venue’s website Oct. 17, the same day the concert was announced.

Does this mean the NBA, which has canceled the first two weeks of its season because of a financial dispute with its players, is more than ready to cancel more games?

Not necessarily, according to the NBA, which issued a statement to Pollstar:

“With the cancellation of the first two weeks of the season, the NBA schedule would have to be reworked and certain dates – including Dec. 13 for a Lakers game at Staples Center – would not be part of any revised schedule.”

In other words, if the Lakers game happens, it won’t be on Dec. 13.
