Nothing To Panic! About

Panic! At The Disco frontman Brendon Urie didn’t let a little something like breaking his ankle in the middle of Sunday’s show send him into a panic.

According to a fan-made YouTube video of Sunday’s show at Pompano Beach Amphitheatre in Florida, Urie broke his ankle while making his way back to the stage after singing the tune “Always” in the middle of the crowd.

The video features Urie taking off his boot and sock to show off his massively swollen ankle.

“What does that mean?” Urie asks fans. “There’s like a softball in my ankle! … My left leg is done for the show if you don’t mind. We’re going to let it just chill out and get drunk. The show will go on if you’ll have us.”

And after calling his ankle disgusting and comparing it to his “grandmother’s goiter,” the show did go on. Urie strapped his guitar back on and launched into the next song with one boot on and one boot off.

That night Urie tweeted a picture of his hugely puffy ankle and wrote: “Thank you to everyone who sang with us tonight at the show! Here’s how it ended for me …”

He followed that tweet with a picture of his foot in a cast, writing “Sleeping like this tonight. And it’s all my fault.”

Urie and the rest of Panic! At The Disco made it to Monday’s show at Jacksonville Landing in Florida.

Panic! At The Disco has U.S. dates booked May 31 through June 30. Two dates are set for Japan Aug. 13-14 followed by a handful of European shows Aug. 19-28. The band returns to the U.S. Sept.1 to play Central Park Summerstage in New York.
