The yet-unnamed new album is the band’s first studio effort since 1996’s Down On The Upside.
Rumors of a Soundgarden reunion began the first day of 2010 when singer Chris Cornell tweeted “Knights of the Soundtable ride again.” The band ended up doing a show at Seattle’s Showbox At The Market in April of that year as well as two August gigs in Chicago, playing the Vic Theatre Aug. 5 followed by a headlining spot at Lollapalooza Aug. 8.

On the schedule is Toronto at the Molson Canadian Amphitheatre July 2; Philadelphia at the Festival Pier at Penn’s Landing July 13; Morrison, Colo., near Denver at Red Rocks Amphitheatre July 18 and Los Angeles at The Forum July 22.
A pre-sale for the Soundgarden fan club begins April 18. The general onsale for Denver begins April 22 and Toronto, Philly and Los Angeles go up April 23. Check out SoundgardenWorld.com for more information.
