Clock Beats LN’s Japan Benefit
“It was an idea that came together after conversations with a couple of artists and Wembley Arena over availability, but the one thing that was not on our side was time,” explained LN chief ops officer John Probyn.
The show scheduled for London’s Wembley Arena April 14 was being set up by LN’s special projects team headed by Graham Pullen. It was to be a major spectacle broadcast worldwide.
“For this to work we needed to get on sale before Easter because of other major events such as the Royal Wedding, but we simply couldn’t make the dates work for everyone,” Pullen told Pollstar.
A smaller benefit at London’s Brixton Academy April 3 featured Liam Gallagher’s new band Beady Eye, Primal Scream, the Sex Pistols’ Glen Matlock, the Verve’s Richard Ashcroft, The Jam’s Paul Weller and Graham Coxon of Blur.
