Called “Deep Purple: The Songs That Rock Built,” the tour will feature the legendary Brit band playing with a symphony in every city except for one gig in the San Francisco area. Sure, you get all those classic riffs Deep Purple is known for, but each performance with a symphony will add an extra dimension to classic songs like “Smoke On The Water,” “Highway Star” and “My Women From Tokyo” as the orchestra rocks right along with the band.

Beginning near Orillia, Ont., at the Casino Rama Entertainment Centre June 3, look for Deep Purple to play Quebec City’s L’Agora Du Vieux Port June 4 and Montreal’s Place des Arts June 6.

The first U.S. date on the routing is Boston’s Wang Theatre June 7 followed by Hartford, Conn., at Mortensen Hall At The Bushnell June 8, Holmdel, N.J., at PNC Bank Arts Center June 10 and Atlantic City at the Tropicana Casino & Resort June 11. Other stops include two nights at New York’s Beacon Theatre June 14-15; Detroit at the Fox Theatre June 17; Highland Park at Ravinia Festival June 18 and Los Angeles at the Greek Theatre June 24 before rolling into that non-symphony San Francisco-area show scheduled for June 25 in Mountain View at the Shoreline Amphitheatre.

Although a few dates are already on sale, expect Boston and Detroit to go up April 1 and Atlantic City April 2. Check out DeepPurple.com for more information.
