Liam Finn’s First Time
Chances are, the first time you heard Liam Finn was in 2008 when he released his solo album, I’ll Be Lighting, which earned him one of those “artists to watch” tags music mags love so much.
Of course, you can’t talk about Finn without mentioning his musical bloodline, specifically his father Neil Finn of Split Enz and Crowded House fame. Just needed to get that out of the way in case you had your Finns confused.
Finn’s next album is set for a Spring release on Yep Rock. Meanwhile we have some gigs to tell you about.
Right now Finn is slotted for two SXSW events, appearing on the New Zealand Music Showcase at Brush Square Park March 16 and the Yep Roc Music Showcase at Maggie Mae’s March 17.
Headlining dates begin six days later when Finn and his band appear in Los Angeles at the Heritage Court At The Autry March 23. Other West Coast stops include San Francisco at The Independent March 24; Portland, Ore., at Doug Fir Lounge March 28; Seattle’s Crocodile Café March 29 and Vancouver at The Venue March 30.
The Windy City is up next with Finn playing a gig at Chicago’s Hideout April 5 followed by stops in Cleveland, Toronto, Montreal, Brooklyn, Cambridge, Mass., and Washington, D.C. Last listing on the schedule has Finn & Company playing World Café Live in Philadelphia April 14.
