Bobby Long Lengthens U.S. Tour
The British singer-songwriter is touring in support of his first studio album on ATO Records. A Winter Tale, produced by Grammy Award-winning Liam Watson, is set for release Feb. 1.
In November Long released the five-song EP Stranger Songs which quickly sold out its initial pressing. The EP features three tracks from A Winter Tale in addition to a couple of bonus tunes. Before that he had previously self-released a number of albums.
Long started attracting a nice big bit of attention a few years ago thanks to his friend Robert Pattinson and a little movie you might have heard of called “Twilight.” A tune co-written by Long and Marcus Foster called “Let Me Sign” was performed by Pattinson in the 2008 film and included in the iTunes digital album.
Since then Long has relocated from England to New York City. He begins his North American headline tour in his adoptive city with a Jan. 9 gig at Public Assembly in Brooklyn.
The second leg of the tour includes gigs at Rex Theater in Pittsburgh (March 23), 20th Century Theatre in Cincinnati (March 24), 3rd & Lindsley in Nashville, Tenn. (March 27), The Social in Orlando, Fla. (April 2), Hi-Tone Café in Memphis, Tenn. (April 6) and Fitzgerald’s in Houston (April 10).
