A Few More Things: Nirvana, Justin Nozuka & Ice-T

Nozuka has been forced to postpone tomorrow’s gig at Webster Hall in New York along with all of his August tour dates due to “unavoidable scheduling conflicts.” Tickets purchased will be honored at the rescheduled shows.

“I want to send my apologies for the change of the Eastern US shows,” the Canadian singer-songwriter wrote in a message posted on his website.

“I hope it doesn’t cause you stress and I really hope you can still make the new dates! We really can’t wait to travel across the US again and I really hope to have you all there.”

The Webster Hall gig has been rescheduled for Sept. 30. An Aug. 19 show at Royale Boston will now take place Sept. 28. An Aug. 20 show at Theatre Of The Living Arts is now scheduled for Sept. 29 and an Aug. 21 show at State Theatre in Falls Church, Va., is now set for Oct. 1.

The Aug. 22 show at Rams Head Tavern in Annapolis, Md., is set for Oct. 5 and the Aug. 24 gig at The Altar Bar in Pittsburgh is scheduled for Oct. 4. The Aug. 26 performance at Chicago’s Park West is now going down Oct. 7 with the Aug. 27 gig at Majestic Theatre in Madison, Wis., scheduled for Oct. 8.

The Aug. 28 Minneapolis gig has been rescheduled for Oct. 9 although a venue has not been announced. The Aug. 30 show at Bluebird Theater in Denver has not yet been rescheduled.

Love’s Lawsuit Attains Nirvana

Courtney Love has settled a $1 million lawsuit over the profits from the sale of Nirvana’s publishing catalog.

As the widow of Nirvana singer Kurt Cobain, Love has controlled many of the rights to Cobain and his rock band’s work since his 1994 suicide.

London & Co. sued Love two years ago, claiming that the Hole singer had gypped the management firm by not sharing the earnings of a nearly $20 million deal in which she sold a portion of Nirvana’s profits.

According to court records, attorneys told a judge the two parties had settled and the case was dismissed. No further details of the settlement were disclosed.

Ice-T’s Driving Record Is A-OK

After being arrested in late July for driving with a suspended license, Ice-T took to his Twitter account telling fans that the whole thing was “some bulls**t they made up” and that his license wasn’t suspended.

“And for the record my license is not suspended. I don’t and never had a NYC license. I have a valid NJ license,” he tweeted July 20.

It turns out the rapper/actor was totally right.

In a Manhattan courtroom Tuesday, prosecutors dismissed the misdemeanor case after finding the New York Department of Motor Vehicles wrongly reflects that Ice-T’s license was suspended because of a lack of car insurance.

The Associated Press notes that the rapper’s 2009 Cadillac is indeed insured and registered in New Jersey.
