Sarah McLachlan Live From JFK International

Almost every comedian has some bit about airports and airlines but the following sentence is not a joke. Next week Sarah McLachlan is stopping by John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York to perform for customers traveling on JetBlue through Terminal 5.

Fans can find McLachlan at the airport July 29 with the show being held post-security at the Marketplace at T5. The Canadian singer-songwriter’s set will kick off JetBlue’s second annual Live from T5 concert series.

“We are honored to showcase Sarah McLachlan in our Live from T5 concert series, giving our customers a free, live entertainment experience and intimate access to one of the most influential and inspiring artists in the industry,” said Robin Hayes, chief commercial officer at JetBlue Airways. “Whether it’s on the ground or in the air, we constantly look for ways to provide a one-of-a-kind travel experience that’s valuable, fun and unique for our customers.”

Although the concert is not available for public purchase, there is a way to see the show without flying out of JFK July 29. Thanks to JetBlue, 15 winners and their guests will get to attend the exclusive show through a contest on the airline’s Facebook page. The winners will also receive tickets to Lilith Tour’s July 31 stop at PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, N.J.

Last year JetBlue’s inaugural Live From T5 concert series featured performances from Dan Dyer, Nicole Atkins, American Princes, Alberta Cross and Justin Townes Earle.

McLachlan will be showing off new tunes from Laws of Illusion, her first album of brand new original material in seven years.

As the only headliner on every Lilith date, the festival co-founder and Grammy Award-winning singer will be on the road with Lilith through early August.

In addition to the July 31 stop, on July 24 Lilith hits up Molson Canadian Amphitheatre in Toronto followed by a July 27 stop at Blossom Music Center in Cuyahoga Falls.

Lilith will also be traveling to Comcast Center in Mansfield, Mass. (July 30), PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, N.J. (July 31), Comcast Theatre in Hartford, Conn. (Aug. 1) and Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Md. (Aug. 3).

This year’s fest features Brandi Carlile, Cat Power, Colbie Caillat, Corinne Bailey Rae, Court Yard Hounds, Emmylou Harris, Erykah Badu, Gossip, Heart, Indigo Girls, Loretta Lynn, Martina McBride, Mary J. Blige, Sheryl Crow, Miranda Lambert and many more.
