Yet Another Drug Charge For Doherty
The someone else in this case is heiress Robin Whitehead, whose body was discovered in an East London flat in January amid drug paraphernalia. Whitehead was the granddaughter of the late Teddy Goldsmith, founder of The Ecologist magazine, according to the BBC.
Whitehead had recently completed “The Road To Albion” – a film doc about Doherty’s previous band, The Libertines.
Two other men were arrested with Doherty, who was questioned before making bail. He is scheduled to appear in court in April.
Doherty’s legal escapades have been a defense attorney’s dream. A British court revoked the singer’s driver’s license earlier this month as punishment for allowing his manager to drive the singer’s car without insurance. The manager – Andrew Boyd was sentenced to 12 months in jail for his involvement in a hit-and-run accident while driving Doherty’s vehicle.
Earlier this year while appearing in court on a driving under the influence charge, the singer was discovered to have 13 plastic bags of a substance believed to be heroin in his jacket pocket. That case resulted in a judge fining Doherty £750 ($1,219).
