World Series Switch for Jay-Z, Alicia Keys

Citing the weatherman’s “inclement weather” forecast, Major League Baseball has moved its entertainment scheduled for the first game of the World Series to Thursday evening.

The original plan was for Alicia Keys to sing the national anthem and accompany Jay-Z on his new song “Empire State Of Mind” during the pre-game entertainment. Those events will now take place Thursday evening.

According to the MLB, the switch came about because the performance could affect the field if wet, creating damage and unsafe playing conditions.

Despite the entertainment switch, Game #1 between the New York Yankees and Philadelphia Phillies is still set for tonight at Yankee Stadium.
