Children Of Bodom End Tour Early
How did it happen? A sharp turn caused Laiho to be ejected from his tour bus bunk, resulting in a broken shoulder and some internal bleeding. From all accounts, Laiho was the consummate show biz trooper in the days following the accident, and kept his arm in a sling during shows whenever he was not on stage.
As it turned out, the ten subsequent dates following the incident were ten too many for Laiho, causing the band to make the decision putting their frontman’s health in front of touring obligations.
“Against all recommendations, I have played and sang for the last 10 days in violent pain which has only made my condition worsen,” Laiho said in a statement. “So, I decided to listen to everyone around me, who were telling me the best thing to do would be to go home and get some proper rest and give my shoulder some time to heal.”
It will be a short rest for Laiho and the band. Children of Bodom’s next scheduled date is May 30 at the
Laiho thanked the other bands for backing his decision to trade the road for some rest. Laiho also had something to say to Children’s fans.
“Most of all I want to thank our fans for still being there, showing support, and continuing to rock out with me! I promise I will be back and I hope you all will too! Horns up!”
