Don’t Miss-y Higgins This Time
The 24-year-old Higgins has won seven ARIA (the Aussie equivalent of the Grammy) awards already and was voted best female artists two years in a row. Her second album release was Australia’s best-selling album of 2007 and she’s already hitting the big screen with ”Brand New Day,” starring opposite Academy Award-winner Geoffrey Rush.
Now she’s visiting North America again, coinciding with the Stateside release of On A Clear Night. Higgins, who spent most of ’08 touring the U.S., returns with support acts Justin Nozuka and Lenka Feb. 19, visiting Houston’s House of Blues.
The five-week trek includes Austin, Dallas, Tampa, Orlando, Atlanta, Washington D.C., Philadelphia, NYC and Cleveland along the way until wrapping up at the Fillmore in San Francisco March 23.
She’s also traveling on a biodiesel-fueled bus, which is not a surprise considering she’s been profiled by the United Nations for her eco-initiatives and has a PSA posted on the Sierra Club’s Web site.
