Lawsuit Supreme
Taco Bell is fighting back, bringing in legal beagles to do battle with 50 Cent.
The rapper filed a federal lawsuit Nov. 17 that Taco Bell’s attorneys call an attempt to “burnish his gangsta rapper persona by distorting beyond all recognition a bona fide, good faith offer.”
Taco Bell Corp. sent out a fake letter to 50 Cent, basically CC’ing the media, asking the hip-hop star to change his name for one day to 79 Cent, 89 Cent or 99 Cent to help publicize its value menu. The company offered to donate $10,000 to the charity of his choice.
Fiddy didn’t take to it kindly and followed through on his threat that he would get litigious, claiming in the lawsuit that the letter infringed on his trademark.
