The former Phish front man collaborated with Orchestra Nashville Composer-In-Residence Don Hart. The piece will be conducted by Paul Gambill and will be performed by Orchestra Nashville. “Time Turns Elastic,” which includes vocals and electric guitar, is expected to launch the auditorium’s 2008-2009 season.

This isn’t the first time Anastasio has worked with Hart. The two introduced a special set of material from Anastasio’s album Seis de Mayo at Bonnaroo in 2004. “Time Turns Elastic” took about a year to compose.

“I’ve never come close to the collaboration I’ve had with Don Hart,” Anastasio said in a statement. “A lot of work done on this piece is conceptual conversations. It’s a true collaboration.”
