Robert Hazard Dies
Robert Hazard, 59, writer of Cyndi Lauper‘s hit “Girls Just Want To Have Fun” and leader of Robert Hazard & The Heroes, died unexpectedly after surgery in Boston August 5, according to his widow.
Hazard, who recently opened for Joan Jett, canceled a fall tour without explanation, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.
The singer also formed the country-tinged Hombres. The group charted in 1982 with “Escalator of Life,” after a gushing two-page Rolling Stone article about the band, Hazard recently recounted to the Inquirer.
