Nas said he filled in his schedule with gigs in smaller venues as a thank you to the people who’ve supported him.
“I felt this experience was important because I wanted to touch my fans in an intimate setting with this new album. All the fans that have supported me over the years, I truly appreciate it and this is my way of giving back.”
Nas’ untitled album, which arrives in stores July 15, is the follow up to 2006’s Hip-Hop Is Dead.
The set features collaborations with a number of artists, including Busta Rhymes, Mark Ronson, The Dap Kings, DJ Green Lantern, DJ Toomp, Stic.Man from Dead Prez, Stargate, DJ Cool & Dre and Jay Electronica.
