Mencia’s November dates are mainly theatre shows and include stops at the Elsinore Theatre in Salem, Ore. (November 3), the Adler Theater in Davenport, Iowa (November 10), the Orpheum Theatre in Madison, Wis. (November 17), and the Embassy Theatre in Fort Wayne, Ind. (November 18).
Tickets for most shows on the tour are available through links on the comedian’s web site.
Mencia got his start at the famed Comedy Store in West Hollywood, seating audiences and parking cars. The comic Mecca, owned by the notoriously demanding but respected impresario Mitzi Shore, was “my own University of the Comedy Store,” Mencia said. “I learned everything I know about comedy from the greats to the mediocres that came through there.”
In 2006, his Comedy Central show “Mind of Mencia” quickly rose through the ranks to become the second-highest rated show on the network, and the comedian embarked on his biggest national tour to date.
