The disc is due March 27 on Zoe / Rounder. He’ll hit the road a month later, starting at San Diego’s Belly Up Tavern April 23. He’ll travel up the coast to San Francisco and Los Angeles, then hit Denver, Chicago, Boston and New York in May.

The trek will end at NYC’s Gramercy Theater May 9, but more dates are in the works for the West Coast in June.

Strangelet is Philips’ 5th studio album and features contributions from R.E.M.‘s Peter Buck and Bill Rieflin.

His touring band will be a three-piece, featuring bassist Paul Bryan and drummer Jay Belrose.
