The band will kick off the reunion with an appearance at Coachella Festival in Indio, Calif., April 27.

TJ&MC will also make a pair of appearances at the Italian Summercase Festivals – July 13 in Madrid and July 14 in Barcelona.

The band’s members say they would like to play more shows, so additional dates are a possibility.

The last time the TJ&MC played live together was in 1998. Frontman Jim Reid said things were “such a bloody awful mess” that the band “just blew up.” He also said that’s one of the reasons that the band is reuniting, adding, “… that was no way for the Mary Chain to end.”

Although no plans are in the works for a new album from the band just yet, the Reid brothers are recording solo albums and expect to release them later this year.
