Scratch Goes West
Jamaican legend Lee “Scratch” Perry, who played a series of East Coast shows in June, will return for a West Coast tour this November.
The current itinerary runs from November 5-16, starting at The Independent in San Francisco and heading through California, Oregon, British Columbia, Washington and Colorado.
New York-based band Dub Is A Weapon, which served as backing band for Perry on the East Coast in June, will resume its duties for the November tour. As with the previous shows, Dub Is A Weapon will perform an opening set as well.
A September 25 date is also booked as part of the last round of gigs at New York’s legendary C.B.G.B. club.
Perry’s 2004 album, Panic In Babylon, was recently given a U.S. release on Narnack Records with a bonus disc of remixes by TV On The Radio and DJ Spooky.
