Woman Of The World
The film focuses on obstetric fistula, a debilitating condition suffered by as many as 100,000 women per year. It was recently identified by the United Nations as one of the “Ten Stories the World Should Know About.”
Although fistula is easily treatable, not enough resources are allocated to provide for women in developing countries, and Zap Mama hopes to help change that with the Woman tour.
Starting September 15 in Seattle, the tour will include film screenings, symposiums and, of course, musical performances in 14 cities, finishing up with two nights at S.O.B.’s in New York City.

This marks the second headlining tour of the year for Zap Mama, the project of Zaire-born, Belgium-raised Marie Daulne. She teamed up with American friends including Erykah Badu, Common, Talib Kweli, ?uestlove of The Roots and others for her latest album, Ancestry In Progress.
“Love, Labor, Loss” was screened at two dates on Zap Mama’s April tour, where Daulne talked about the film and related issues before performing a cappella.
