While Collins and Libaux are the prime forces behind Nouvelle Vague, they don’t do it all on their own: The group’s latest self-titled album on Luaka Bop features eight different vocalists, and they’ll be bringing at least a few of them when they land in the States this September.

The tour starts at Joe’s Pub in New York City September 10. The group’s April performance at the same venue generated an avalanche of buzz, so they’re playing a second show at the venue three days later after a trip through Philadelphia and Boston.

NYC denizens will get one more chance September 14 at The Canal Room before Nouvelle Vague heads to Canada and across the U.S. to the West Coast. They’ll finish up with four California shows, the last of which will take place at The Casbah in San Diego September 27.

The group’s penchant for an eclectic array of covers and an international roster of singers have quickly earned it a devoted following. Songs like Joy Division’s “Love Will Tear Us Apart” and the Dead Kennedys’ “Too Drunk To F**k” are filtered through a warped lens of ’60s French pop, jazz and bossa nova for a result that you have to hear to understand.
