Primus originally formed in the late ’80s in the San Francisco Bay Area, quickly gaining a devoted fanbase with their infectious blend of wacky lyrics and funky post-prog rock.

After a four-year hiatus, bassist/singer Claypool and guitarist LaLonde regrouped last fall with original drummer Alexander, who had left in 1996. An EP/DVD, Animals Should Not Try To Act Like People, coincided with the band’s fall tour, which they extended into spring of this year.
