Frampton, Styx Alive Again
Those lazy days of summer are about to be spiced up with some hot nights, courtesy of two of classic rock’s most celebrated live acts. Styx and Peter Frampton are taking to North American amphitheatres on a co-headlining bill, dubbed the VH1 Classic Summer Hits tour.
Nelson will join as special guest on the outing, which is slated to launch May 6 in Cleveland, at the Blossom Music Center and will include concerts in Chicago, Los Angeles and Atlanta before winding up June 27 in Virginia Beach, Va.
The Styx lineup – guitarist/vocalist James “JY” Young, guitarist/vocalist Tommy Shaw, keyboardist/vocalist Lawrence Gowan, drummer Todd Sucherman and bassist/vocalist Ricky Philips – will be augmented by original bassist Chuck Panozzo on selected dates.
Come Sail Away – The Styx Anthology will be released May 4 on Universal. Frampton is supporting his first studio album in nine years, Now, which hit stores last fall.
