Bling-Bling Done Gone Gone
LAS VEGAS (AP) _ The hotel rooms of recording artists Nelly and Michelle Branch were looted while they attended the 2003 Radio Music Awards on the Las Vegas Strip, authorities said Tuesday.
Nelly, whose real name is Cornell Haynes, claimed more than $1 million worth of jewelry was taken from his room at the Aladdin hotel-casino, while Branch reported that computer equipment was stolen from her room at the hotel.
Las Vegas Police Officer Tina Ellison said the burglaries were reported at 8:50 p.m. Monday and were being investigated.
Representatives of the two artists had no immediate information Tuesday about the burglaries.
Haynes, of St. Louis, won the award for best driving song for “Shake Ya Tailfeather,” which he performed during the show with P. Diddy and Murphy Lee.
Branch is from Sedona, Ariz., but now lives in Los Angeles, said Warner Bros. record company spokeswoman Amber Haeckel.
