Tour De Fromage
The outing is the band’s first in seven years with their “classic” lineup. This includes bassist/singer Les Claypool, guitarist Larry Lalonde and drummer Tim Alexander, who departed in 1996.
Featuring a multimedia theatrical stage production with two full sets, the Tour de Fromage runs from October 14 through November 23, hitting major cities across the States. San Francisco and Los Angeles nab the band for two nights apiece, thanks to the demand for tickets.
“It’s amazing to me the response we’ve had for this upcoming tour,” Claypool said. “Tickets are blowing out. The hype around these shows is something I haven’t seen in the history of Primus.”
Now, about those two sets during the show: Primus will play the first set as a sampling from their repertoire, and mixing up the setlist each night. Then, the second set will be a one time only, start to finish performance of the band’s masterpiece, Sailing The Seas Of Cheese.
“The spontaneous visual presentation and the varied song selection will ensure that no two performances will be the same,” Claypool said.
Just ahead of the Tour de Fromage, Primus will release their EP/DVD Animals Should Not Try To Act Like People, which features five new songs, all the band’s videos, and previously unreleased live performances.
