What are the Drive-By Truckers are up to? You guessed it – only these Southern rockers are making more than just fleeting passes at clubs around the States. Already on the road for a good chunk of the year, the quintet continues onward with a month of new shows in and around the South.
Featured on the list are two shows in Austin, both on the same day – August 22. One takes place at The Gourds and the other is an acoustic set at Waterloo Records at 5 pm. They’re doing the same thing September 20 when they play both the
Drive-By Truckers recently released their fifth album, Decoration Day. Done true trucker DIY style, Decoration Day is 15 songs about the “choices people make (good and bad) and their repercussions,” in the words of the band. The disc also features guest appearances from Spooner Oldham of Muscle Shoals, Clay Leverett, John Neff and Scott Danbom of Centro-Matic.
