Sir Paul is taking his show to the other side of the Atlantic after having wowed audiences in the Americas last year. Starting March 25 in Paris, the three-month-long trek will hit major arenas throughout Europe, the U.K. and Ireland.

“I had a lot of fun touring this show across America last year and instead of [being] exhausted I felt exhilarated because I am enjoying it so much. I’m looking forward to playing through Europe and bringing the show back home to Britain,” Sir Paul said.

“I think the crowd is going to like this gig. When I was thinking of what songs to play, I just imagined myself as one of the audience and thought, ‘What would I like to hear him play?’

“So that means we’ll be playing some of my Beatles stuff – rather a lot of Beatles stuff, actually – some Wings stuff and some more recent stuff. So basically, the show pretty much spans my whole career. And I’m really getting off on playing it all with my new band. Their energy and musicianship is phenomenal.”

That phenomenal band features Rusty Anderson and Brian Ray on guitars, Paul “Wix” Wickens on keyboards and Abe Laboriel Jr. on drums.

As for the concerts, they’re said to include performances of Beatles songs never before played live in Europe. His previous gigs clocked in at an impressive two-and-a-half hours and features 36 songs, so concert-goers are sure to get their money’s worth.

Just before the European shows begin, McCartney will release a 37-song live album, cleverly titled Back In The World, and a three-hour DVD featuring his American tour called Back In The U.S.

That tour in the States found McCartney sitting atop POLLSTAR’s Top 100 Tours list for 2002 with an impressive $103.3 million in ticket sales. He also recently won the major tour of the year award during POLLSTAR’s Concert Industry Awards earlier this month.
