Yes, the Dave Matthews Band are perennial warm weather favorites. But this year the band is taking on a rare winter tour during the solstice season.

The last winter shows the band played were a series of 10 gigs on the East Coast during December 2000. This year’s tour follows much of the same route, with the band heading out December 10 in Florida and trekking up the coast through December 22. Nine shows are on the books, including a two-night stand at New York’s Madison Square Garden.

Dave Matthews Band recently wrapped their traditional summer tour run. The band had been on the road since the end of April, entertaining audiences throughout the States.

Dave Matthews also has a solo acoustic performance scheduled for October 24 at Seattle’s Benaroya Hall. All proceeds will benefit the Bullitt Foundation, which seeks to protect and restore the environment of the Pacific Northwest.

A lottery for tickets for the Bullitt Foundation benefit begins October 3 and the tour ticket lottery starts the next day. Check out davematthewsband.com for more information on the lottery and how it operates. Regular tickets go on sale starting October 26 for most shows.
