Every Jimmy Sturr Christmas Show starts at 3 p.m., giving the group plenty of time to meet everyone’s polka needs and making the concerts family-friendly.
Beginning January 12, Sturr and his 23-piece orchestra have a steady schedule of shows taking them around the Eastern half of the States clear through the end of July.
July 26-27 find Sturr and company with several other polka outfits at the Polkapalooza 2002 extravaganza. Special guests Asleep At The Wheel join Sturr and a bevy of other groups for the two-day fest at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, Conn. The marathon shows run for a total of 17 hours.
With 11 Grammys to his name and 99 albums under his belt, Sturr is without question the king of polka.
Thanks to their endless touring schedules which take the crew all over the world, Sturr and orchestra are the international polka favorites.
In addition to their many awards and nominations, Sturr and Orchestra can boast being the one and only polka band to ever perform on the famed Grand Ole Opry.
They’ve also shared dance floors with country artists including Alan Jackson, Willie Nelson and Dwight Yoakam, never hesitating to mix some contemporary influences with traditional polka music.
