Aerosmith Press Pause
Aerosmith have hit the pause button in their Just Push Play tour. Worn out from the incessant gigging since June, singer Steven Tyler’s sore throat is forcing the band to take a break – and postpone a few gigs. Shows in Boston, Providence, and Philadelphia November 4, 6, and 8 respectively, were scuttled but are expected to be rescheduled.
This is the second time the Beantown rockers have amended the tour schedule. October concerts originally scheduled for Pittsburgh, Toronto, and Dayton, Ohio, were canceled due to Tyler’s throat problems.
All in all, Aerosmith’s Just Push Play outing has done quite well, especially considering the recent downturn in the economy. Since its June 6 launch, the tour has grossed more than $32 million and sold approximately 90 percent its tickets.
The band is scheduled to be on the road with reunited English psychedelic rockers The Cult until December 17, although there is talk of extending the tour through January.
Barring any further problems, the band should head back out November 10 in Lexington, Ky.
