Although dates have not been announced, Limp Bizkit will head out in late November for a tour of at least eight markets as they audition guitarists and have “fan parties.”

According to group mouthpiece Fred Durst, “It’s just a great chance for us to be with our fans. We could be at a club, at your house, at the mall, at your high school, who knows.”

The parties will be different in every city, as they scout out guitarists. “All I have to say is if you got it… bring it on!” says Durst.

A post on the band’s official Web site from the emphatic Durst reads, “We’re going to comb the globe in search of the illist guitar player known to man. Then, we’re gonna take this illist guitar player known to man and we’re gonna finish writing the sickest new undeniable Limp Bizkit record you could ever imagine.”

Rock radio stations in the Boston, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Dallas, Detroit, Chicago, Denver, Seattle, San Francisco, and Los Angeles, Charlotte, N.C.; Jacksonville, Fla.; markets will provide the details, as will the band’s Web site.

The theatrical Borland, a founding member of the group, officially announced his departure October 15.

The band – now comprising Durst, DJ Lethal, Sam Rivers, and John Otto – is in the middle of writing material for a new album, which may have to wait until the illist guitarist is found.

The guitarist audition/fan party tour coincides with the release of Limp Bizkit’s New Old Songs, an album of remixes due December 4.

Along with tunes reinterpreted by producers The Neptunes, Timbaland, P Diddy, DJ Premiere, Butch Vig, DJ Lethal, William Orbit, and others, the album also features guest performers Xzibit, Everlast, Eve, 8-Ball, Bubba Sparxxx, and E-40.
