New Year’s Eve With Dolly
Dolly Parton will host and perform at a special New Year’s Eve show at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville. The Red, White And Bluegrass concert will benefit the Families Of Freedom Scholarship Fund, which provides financial help to the families of those killed or disabled in the terrorist attacks.
Spearheaded by Parton herself, the event will feature a performance by the country music legend backed by an all-star acoustic band. Additional artists and ticket availability will be announced as they are confirmed.
“We are trying to gather some of the greatest talent from the bluegrass and roots music community,” Parton said. “I would like to do a series of concerts throughout the year in order to make this an on-going program to raise money for something so worthy.”
Echoing the sentiment of many artists, she added, “I wanted to show my true colors, which are red, white, and blue, by being a good American and a good Samaritan and doing whatever I could to help the victims of the terrorist tragedy.”
