Coldplay Launches Maiden North American Trek
Brit-poppers Coldplay have been building an impressive buzz in their native U.K. for the past two years, and are now setting their sights on North America with their first Stateside tour.
Currently on a European outing, the band will make its North American debut February 8 at the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver. Then they’ll work their way east with a string of club dates in Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, Boston, Chicago, Toronto and Miami.
The group, which has garnered glowing reviews and comparisons to fellow countrymen Travis and Oasis, will then continue to tour Europe with plans to return to North American shores in June.
Coldplay is out backing up their first international release, Parachutes. Their first single, “Yellow,” has gotten a significant boost by television network ABC, which has been using the ditty in promo spots through the November sweeps period.
