Motley Crue Drummer Joins Tour
Randy Castillo will join the Motley Crue tour this week in his hometown of Albuquerque, N.M.
“I’m feeling great and can’t wait to get out there and play my ass off! My first show will be Albuquerque on the 8th. Can’t miss playing my hometown. My bags are packed!” Castillo said in a message posted on the band’s official Web site.
The drummer underwent stomach surgery in mid-June, just two weeks before the band kicked off its Maximum Rock tour. The reason for the emergency operation was not released.
Hole drummer Samantha Maloney jumped at the chance to sit in for Castillo and substituted for him on the first dates of the tour. Her last gig with the group will likely be July 6 at Red Rocks Amphitheatre outside Denver.
