Vic Damone’s Tour On Hiatus
On the advice of doctors, singer Vic Damone postponed his farewell concert tour and will take the summer off.
Damone, 72, was hospitalized June 26 at a New Jersey hospital for what was then described as flu-like symptoms. He was released June 28 and returned to his New Jersey home to recuperate from severe exhaustion and dehydration.
“He has been advised by his doctors to take a summer vacation from his farewell tour,” Los Angeles publicist Rob Wilcox said June 30.
Damone has recorded more than 2,000 songs during his 53-year career, including “An Affair To Remember,” “On The Street Where You Live” and “You’re Breaking My Heart.”
Damone’s farewell tour will resume in the fall and end with his final concert at Carnegie Hall on May 18, 2001, Wilcox said.
