Rod Stewart Confirms Surgery
After several stories floated in the media, the Rod Stewart camp finally confirmed that the singer underwent thyroid surgery on May 12th at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
A recent CAT scan detected a nodule in the right lobe of Stewart’s thyroid gland. Surgery proved the nodule was benign and the operation did not affect Stewart’s vocal chords.
The surgery hasn’t slowed Stewart down in the least. Just this past weekend he played in a charity soccer match, and after defeating Robbie Williams’ team, went on to reach the semi-finals.
Stewart’s is currently in the studio and his next album is due for release this Fall.
