Wilco & Natalie Merchant Hit The Road
Americana chameleons Wilco are ready to roll out a new album and tour.
The band has teamed up for a second time with British iconoclast Billy Bragg for a record of unreleased Woody Guthrie material, Mermaid Avenue Vol. II, due to hit stores May 30.
Wilco then takes to the road, appearing with Natalie Merchant on a U.S. tour July 1-13.
After their theatre and festival outing — which sees Wilco in the support slot — both acts travel to the American Music Fest in Winter Park, Colo., for separate July 15 performances.
Wilco then goes on to play mostly West Coast clubs, wrapping the tour at The Fillmore in San Francisco July 29.
The group heads home to the Windy City for the Chicago Tribune Rock the River show August 12, and plays the Edmonton Folk Festival the next day.
