Camden Concert Records Release
John Paff, who heads up a government advocacy group, filed suit against the city in October after officials denied his open records request for information on officers working the Aldean show, according to the South Jersey Times.
Officials claimed the documents Paff had requested were protected under confidentiality requirements.
Superior Court Judge Lee Solomon apparently thought otherwise, and ordered the city to hand over the records Dec. 18.
Paff’s request was prompted by the October 2012 letter of a city councilman who expressed concern that taxpayers were being charged for the “stacking” of police overtime hours beyond the needs of the arena, the South Jersey Times reported.
Documents provided to Paff showed Live Nation, which owns the Susquehanna Bank Center, requested 51 officers for the Aldean concert, and made out a check for $32,879 to the city for police overtime hours, the paper said.
The city has also been asked to release additional information related to the overtime hours and has 20 days to do so.
