Bob Dylan In Japan
Dylan will play six shows at Zepp DiverCity in Tokyo March 31 through April 8; two shows at Zepp Sapporo, April 13-14; Zepp Nagoya April 17-18; one show at Zepp Fukuoka April 19; and four shows in a row at Zepp Namba in Osaka April 21-24.
Ticket prices, which range from $124 to $210, rival those of The Rolling Stones, who will roll into Tokyo in early March, and are a bit more expensive than for Paul McCartney’s November stadium tour.
Nevertheless, McCartney made off like gangbusters.
Various media are reporting that the ex-Beatle grossed $40 million on his six Japan shows, or a little less than 40 percent of his total 2013 world tour.
All the shows, with stadium capacity, sold out.
The Stones will be play just one venue in Japan – Tokyo Dome – and only for three nights.
Dylan’s 14 shows should make a lot of money, although the Zepp venues are relatively small.
