Metal Fans Warmer In Mallorca
Having scuttled next year’s Full Metal Cruise because he couldn’t find suitable destinations, Wacken Open Air chief Thomas Jensen’s ship will be heading to Mallorca, Spain, in 2015.

This year’s inaugural boat trip, Jensen’s attempt to “bring a real metal festival to the sea,” started out from Hamburg, Germany, and stopped off in Southampton in the UK, Le Havre in France and Amsterdam before heading home.
It took place May 5-12, probably not the best time for metal fans to shed their leathers and top up their tans. The 2015 cruise will be a little earlier in the year (April 11-16) but this time Mein Schiff 1 (or My Ship 1) will be heading for the warmer climes of Mallorca.
The Mein Schiff, when still named Galaxy, was the setting of BBC television’s docu-soap “The Cruise.”
