Pacman And Peso, And Pyongyang
Anthony Bobb and Dontray Ennis, who go under the professional names Pacman and Peso, made news earlier this fall by launching a Kickstarter campaign to fund their trip to the Hermit Kingdom.
They raised $10,000.
The pair talked to reporters in Beijing when they returned from their five-day trip.
Americans can only visit North Korea as part of arranged tours, which means government officials are always along for the ride.
The original plan was to film the video on a karaoke party bus in Pyongyang.
The two didn’t elaborate on exactly what the shoot entailed, but were quick to point out that they did nothing that might upset their hosts.
“I mean, we didn’t go there to be political,” Pacman told reporters. “We just go down there to shoot our video and that’s about the reason why we went.”
Peso added, “Nobody shot a video in North Korea, let alone thought of it. You know what I’m saying?”
They said they were treated well. “I was sick out there for a good two days and they took care of me until I got over the sickness,” Peso said.
In recent years North Korea has detained at least six Americans, including an elderly tourist last month.
Pacman and Peso say they will release the video in December.
