Canberra Stadium Name Change

The Australian Capital Territory (ACT) government secured a seven-figure naming-rights deal with GIO Insurance for around $300,000 per year for at least four years.

It allows GIO to expand its presence in the ACT after moving into the compulsory third-party insurance market this year. It is the first naming rights sponsorship for Canberra Stadium since it was built in 1977.

The Government had initially hoped for a a deal north of $400,000 per year.
