High Fives For Fullsteam

Juha Kyyrö’s Fullsteam took five gongs at Finland’s Industry Awards Gala Oct. 19, part of the country’s annual Music & Media showcase conference.

Kyyrö himself took promoter of the year, Virpi Immonen won manager, while Pekka Kupiainen from Fullsteam subsidiary Staff & Stuff was named production manager of the year.

Apart from that, Fullsteam was also named agency of the year and indie label of the year.

Kyyrö told Pollstar the company’s success is largely thanks to its “honest and straightforward relationships” with its partners.

“For us the relationship always matters more than the money, and without the relationship there would be no money, anyway,” he said.

In 2013 Fullsteam grew its business by 70 percent, both in revenue and the number of shows it promoted. It promoted 1,100 shows by 300 artists, including many from its domestic roster and international acts including Justin Bieber, System of a Down, Lana Del Rey, and Rush. The Music & Media conference sold out again, pulling 700 delegates from 16 countries. Lost In Music, the evening showcase that runs parallel to the conference, drew almost 20,000 punters to see 100 or so acts. Music & Media and Lost In Music ran Oct. 17-20.
