£4M Boost For Stockton Globe
Stockton Globe Theatre’s bid to returning as a major live music and comedy venue has been given a boost by a Heritage Lottery Fund grant of £4 million.
The Grade II listed Art Deco building in England closed 35 years ago, having been a major stop on the UK circuit and hosting shows from the likes of The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Buddy Holly, and The Shadows.

It closed its doors for the last time in 1997 and has since suffered from significant deterioration.
Stockton Council believes the new HLF funding can now see it reopened as a 2,500-capacity venue in 2016.
