Worker Sues Over Big Sandy Injuries
A stagehand injured while preparing for a Reba McEntire concert at Big Sandy Superstore Arena in Huntington, W.V., sued the performer’s companies, AEG and The Messina group in federal court Sept. 20, claiming he was struck by a dislodged light fixture while helping set up the stage.
Ronald St. Clair claims he was severely injured when a large ceiling light figure fell on him from a height of more than 30 feet, striking him on the head, neck and shoulders.
The light was dislodged by another worker installing a lighting truss at the arena in O, charges Reba’s business, Starstruck Entertainment, AEG Live, TMG and associated businesses of “reckless, willful, wanton and negligent conduct” in the accident.
SMG is not named in the suit.
St. Clair seeks an unspecified amount in actual and punitive damages for past and future pain and suffering, medical expenses, loss of income, impairment of earning capacity and loss of enjoyment of life.
