BDO Cancels Second Sydney Date

Big Day Out’s plans to hold two Sydney shows for its 2014 run (Jan. 26-27) seemed “a bit ambitious,” admits founder Ken West.

The second date will now be folded into the Jan. 26 date, which marks the Australia Day holiday.

Traditionally, the touring festival’s Sydney date draws 55,000. West hasn’t ruled out increasing the capacity of the sole show.

Customers have been offered the option of moving automatically to the first show, get refunds or transfer their tickets to any of the festival’s other cities.
